Writing Prompt – Day 56
A member of the royal family falls in love with her bodyguard.
My example :
Eloise submissively waited until the final moment she knew she would be allowed to leave. After finding her parents and explaining how tired she was from all the mingling and dances – with the fine gentleman she had to add – she was ready to call it a night. Of course, though, only if they permitted it. They were elated she had gotten in at least five dances with possible prospects, and thankfully they were more than happy to let Thomas take her home.
“I am ready to go home now please,” Eloise said.
“Of course, my lady,” Thomas replied, sliding his arm into hers. “Right this way.”
“You know, you don’t always have to be so proper with me.” She bit her lip slightly, unsure if she should take it back. Thomas would lose his job as her bodyguard if anyone else seen him talk to her without saying pleasantries such as ‘my lady’, ‘mam’, or ‘miss’.
“Oh, but I do, my lady,” he grinned.
Eloise giggled. The carriage was waiting for them just in time. With the help of Thomas, she gracefully climbed in.
“Were you not enjoying yourself at the ball?” Thomas signaled to the driver to take off.
Eloise sat up properly. “You could say it was something like that.” She met his eyes and then quickly looked out the window.
Today I did five minutes but if I would have kept going, they were going to dance before the night ended. And feelings would develop stronger. And all would be well in the world… as long as no one found out. I hope you had fun with yours! See you back here tomorrow! (:
