Writing Prompt – Day 41
Happy Monday everyone! For those who celebrated, hope your Easter was very special! (:
Alright, let’s get into the first prompt of the week.
This one is an easy one!
Can you think of anyone, maybe someone you know personally, who matches the criteria below?
Think about it & when you are ready, set that timer!
Let’s do this!
Write about someone who would be described, above all else, as honest. Or kind. Or intelligent. Or all of the above.
My example :
Brad started his day when the alarm clock buzzed country music from the speaker. He turned it off and rolled over. Another early morning start. He got up, got dressed, grabbed his lunch pack from the fridge, and poured himself some coffee. Hazelnut creamer lightened his coffee in his black to-go tumbler. He swiftly slid his shoes on and locked the door behind him. His diesel truck roared as he turned the engine over.
Twenty-minutes later he arrived at work.
He did over double the amount of work past quota and after he clocked out, he called his wife. He missed her all day and couldn’t wait to greet her when he arrived back home.
When Brad pulled into the drive-way, he stepped out and made his way into the house. He greeted his wife with a smile and a kiss before starting up a load of laundry. Grabbing all the ingredients out for dinner, he began to prep it.
While prepping, his middle-schooler ran down the driveway after getting off the bus and when he walked into the door, Brad greeted him.
An hour passed and Brad waited outside with his wife for his other son to arrive. Ten minutes later, his smallest son beamed and hugged him the moment he stepped off the bus from elementary school.
Back in the house, Brad blared music as he cooked dinner to serve his family. After dinner, he switched over the laundry and laughed as he put together a puzzle with his wife and two boys. When it was close to bedtime, he made sure the kids were bathed and their teeth were brushed.
His wife read the kids a story while he heated up the heat-up bears for them. When they were ready, he snuggled the bears up to the boys and tucked them in with a kiss and a hug goodnight. He quietly left the room after turning the lights out.
He made his way back to the laundry and put it away. His day wasn’t quite over yet. He then cleaned the house, prepped the automatic coffee for the next day, packed his lunch, and took a shower. The last of his day was spent with his wife, catching up on how their day went and making plans for the rest of the week. He then held her as she read a book.
And then it was officially bedtime.
The next day, it would be the same motions all over again. And there was nothing else he would rather do. He loved his family with all his heart, and he loved providing for them.
Brad was an honest man because he was loyal to his family. For them, he worked hard and loved harder. He was a kind man because although he took care of himself, he also made sure he took care of everyone else too. He was an intelligent man because he knew how to provide for his family while also remaining an honest and kind man.
Brad’s wife was the luckiest woman in the world to have him. He was the perfect husband and the perfect dad. And she could only hope their kids would one day grow up to be just like him.
This post is to Brad – my wonderful husband and father to my kids. We see everything you do for us, and we love you so so much! We would be lost with you! Xoxo. (:
