Today we have a romance prompt! Set that timer & have fun! (;

A college professor and their teaching assistant hit it off a little too well.

My example :

Every time I see her walk into the room, my heart aches for what it wants. I know it’s wrong, but I can’t help it. She’s younger – quite a bit younger – and not only that, but she is my assistant. It’s not allowed, but maybe we could keep it hidden. I know she feels the same way about me. Every time she “accidentally” brushes an arm against me, or she “nonchalantly” bites her lip in front of me, or even in the way she laughs at my “hilarious” jokes.

“Good morning, Professor Lockwood,” Willow says.

Oh God, the way she says Professor. She wants me too. I just know it.

“Good morning, Willow. Are you ready for another lovely day of teaching?” I could shoot myself in the foot. Lovely? Really? My mind is never right around her. She makes me feel things I never thought possible, and that makes me nervous.

“Of course. I have the best teacher after all,” she smiles.

“You’re an assistant teacher you know. You hardly learn anything from me that you don’t already know yourself,” I say, getting the papers ready to pass out to the class who hasn’t arrived yet.

She laughs. This is what I’m talking about – she laughs when I’m not even funny. “You’re silly. I learn lots from you.” She emphasizes “lots”. What that means, I’m not sure. “Do you need help with those papers?” She asks me next, but she doesn’t wait for an answer.

Here comes the arm brush. My heart palpitates as she comes closer and I can smell her perfume surrounding my essence. She grabs the stack of papers and instead of an arm brush, she deliberately graces my hand.

“Thank you,” I say. That’s all I can manage to get out. I have to relax my amped up body before students start shuffling in.

“Hey, before the students arrive, I meant to ask you something,” she says.

Willow’s staring right at me, right into my soul as she pauses. And when she pauses, I try to keep my breathing even as she, you guessed it, bites her lip. I’m staring back, but my mind is not taking in what she is saying. “Professor?”

I clear my throat and shake it off. “Sorry Willow, I got lost in thought. What were you saying?” I try to cover up my thoughts and it’s unclear to me if it worked or not because just then, the first of the students rush in through the door.

I look away from Willow and pretend my desire for her doesn’t exist. It’s the only way to get through this day. But once the classes are over and it’s just her and I left, I’m not sure how much more I can take. I like to think I have self-control and Lord knows I’ve had it for five excruciating months, but she’s making it impossible for my mind not to wander to forbidden thoughts.

The thought creeps back in. Maybe we really can get away with this.

God help me.

I, again, shake the thought of it away. For now, it’s time to teach.

Does Willow really feel the same way about Professor Lockwood or is it all in his head because he wants it to be true? If she does feel the same way, will she take the risk? What if the Professor makes a move and Willow goes to the school board? Is it love, a set-up, or a delusion?! It could go either way!

How’d you do pals?!
